Walt Disney World Resort Sparkles with Endless Magic During the 2016 Holiday Season

Deck the halls! Walt Disney World Resort does that and plenty more this holiday season – turning up the yuletide magic with new shows, thrilling spectaculars, beloved characters to create lasting memories, yummy and festive holiday treats, and theme parks and resort hotels all aglitter with holly, jolly decorations. Here’s a sampling of the holiday fun in store for guests: Magic Kingdom ·       Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party : It’s a Christmas party like no other, with joyful music, a shimmering Cinderella Castle, characters in their festive finery and the Magic Kingdom decked out and even more magical for merry-making guests of all ages. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Announces All-New Holiday Nighttime Spectacular

An all-new nighttime spectacular, “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!,” premieres at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Nov. 14, sending beloved Disney animated characters on a spirited yuletide adventure to get Santa back to the North Pole in time for Christmas Eve. The façade of the Chinese Theater comes alive with the merriment, music and sparkle of the Walt Disney World Resort 2016 holiday season. On, above and around the theater are state-of-the-art projections, special effects, fireworks and even snow. Adding to the immersive experience is a new musical score featuring familiar holiday tunes with an original twist. It’s a holiday show that couldn’t be more merry and bright. Disney Storytelling, Technology Share the Spotlight in Projection Show Premiering Nov. 4 at Cinderella Castle, Walt Disney World Resort

Classic Disney fairy tales light up a fairy-tale castle as the projection show “Once Upon a Time” begins beaming its magic onto Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World Resort. The fantastic and heartwarming show begins regular performances for Magic Kingdom Park guests on Nov. 4. The new show uses projection-mapping technology to produce a dazzling three-dimensional effect that fits every nook and contour of the Castle, from its base to the tips of its towers and turrets. The result: Cinderella Castle opens like a storybook and becomes living art, the canvas for a kaleidoscopic and eye-filling feast of fantasy. Coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the timeless animated classic, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, the new projection show is narrated by Mrs. Potts who shares “once upon a time” bedtime stories with Chip. Guests Can Meet Princess Elena of Avalor at Magic Kingdom Park Beginning Nov. 24

Beginning Nov. 24, Princess Elena of Avalor – the first Disney princess inspired by diverse Latin cultures – will begin to greet guests alongside other royal friends at Princess Fairytale Hall at Magic Kingdom Park. At Princess Fairytale Hall, guests can choose between a meeting with Elena and Cinderella or a visit with Rapunzel and Tiana. FastPass+ reservations for dates that include Elena appearances will become available today, Oct. 14. Princess Elena of Avalor first made her grand debut at Magic Kingdom Park back in August, with Cinderella officially welcoming her to the kingdom in “The Princess Elena Royal Welcome” stage show. New Muppets Live Show Debuts at Magic Kingdom Park

The Muppets star in an all-new live show at Magic Kingdom Park called “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History.” Sam Eagle, the fiercely patriotic American eagle who is forever trying to set a high moral standard for the Muppets, joins Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, The Great Gonzo and James Jefferson, town crier of Liberty Square, as they gather outside The Hall of Presidents to present historical tales in hysterical Muppets fashion. BIG NEWS from ESPN Wide World of Sports and Walt Disney World Resort! Come January, the big question in Orlando will be “are you ready for some NFL football?” And the answer will be a crowd cheering ‘yes!’ The 2017 NFL Pro Bowl is coming to Orlando. And Walt Disney World Resort is excited to be part of the team hosting the Pro Bowl 5K Run, a celebratory parade featuring Pro Bowlers in Magic Kingdom Park and team practices at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
