May The Course Be With You! Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend Makes Its Intergalactic Arrival at Disneyland Resort in 2015

Joining forces with one of Hollywood’s most iconic brands, runDisney is creating another transportive race weekend – the Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend presented by Sierra Nevada Corporation at Disneyland Resort. The intergalactic journey begins January 15 and runs through January 18, 2015. The Star Wars event is the fourth runDisney race weekend scheduled for 2015 at Disneyland Resort, doubling the number of races held in 2013. The new race weekend offers runners a variety of race experiences for all levels, from Padawans to Jedi Masters – kids races, a 5K, a 10K and a half marathon. And for those who show an event greater strength for the Force, there will be a two-race challenge involving the 10K and the half marathon with a commemorative medal awaiting every finisher. In addition, there will be a slew of family-friendly events throughout the weekend, including a Health and Fitness Expo and a Star Wars-themed pre-race party, plus popular Star Wars and Disney charact

Transportation schedules for this weekend's 24 hour 'Rock Your Disney Side' event

Rock Your Disney Side Transportation Information: From Walt Disney World Resort hotels, bus transportation is set to begin at 5:15am on Friday May 23, 2014, continuing through the entire 24 hour event. Resort launches will start at 5:15am. If you are arriving by car, the Transportation and Ticket Center parking lot will be opening at 4:30am on May 23, 2014. The ferry boat and monorail service from the TTC to the Magic Kingdom will begin at 5:15am. The Resort monorail will be operating from 5:15am on May 23 to 3:30am on May 24, then from 5:30am on May 24 to 1am on May 25. The Express monorail will be operating from 5:15am on May 23 to 7am on May 24. The Epcot monorail will be operating from 8am on May 23 to 1am on May 24, then from 3:30am on May 24 to 11pm on May 24.

Disney has just released everyone's favorite promotion once again, free dining at Disney World! Free dining at Disney World is currently available only for Disney Visa card holders, but will be available to everyone on May 7. This amazing offer is available for select dates from the end of August through December 2014. If you are staying at a value resort, your family will receive the Quick Service Dining plan for FREE while families staying at a moderate, deluxe, or deluxe villa resort will receive the Disney Dining Plan for FREE. The quick service dining plan can be upgraded to the regular plan for $18.65 per person per day ($3.20 for children). Rivers of Light at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Photo COPYRIGHT Walt Disney World Company In an attempt to make Disney's Animal Kingdom a "full day" theme park, the new nighttime shows "Rivers of Light" was unveiled last week at Walt Disney World's summer media event. Disney is promising an extremely innovative show that will feature technology not yet seen in any Disney Park. A combination of live music, floating lanterns, water screens and swirling animal imagery will entertain guests on the beautiful Discovery River that is nestled between Discovery Island and Expedition Everest. This stellar production should be the perfect end to a day of adventure at Disney's Animal Kingdom. No opening date was given but when it's announced, we'll let you know.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Launches ‘Harambe Nights’ June 7 to Celebrate Grandest Tales and Tastes of Africa

Harambe Nights, a dazzling theatrical production based on the beloved Disney classic film, “The Lion King,” and an energetic street party with gourmet dining will debut in June 2014 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Oscar-winning movie, it was announced today. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, the crowning jewel of New Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom, will officially open to Walt Disney World guests on May 28, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs announced today at a media preview of the attraction.
