Disney's Hollywood Studios New Year's Eve Entertainment Schedule

Disney's Hollywood Studios has a full line-up of entertainment planned for New Years Eve. Get there early and avoid a possible "phased closing."

The park will open at 8:00 am, and close at 12 midnight, with evening Extra Magic Hours (Disney Resort Guests only) from 12:00 am to 2:00 am.

Lights! Camera, Happy New Year! Fireworks show will take place at 12 Midnight.

Fantasmic! at 6:30 pm, 8:00 pm, 10:00 pm. (don't forget your "Glow With The Show" Ears!)

The Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special - shows at 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 5: 00 pm, 7:00 pm, 8:00 pm, 9:00 pm, 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm. Located at the Premier Theatre.

Mulch, Sweat and Shears and live DJ dance party at the Icon stage from 6:00 pm throughout the evening.

Hats and horns will be available beginning at 6:00 pm at Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show.

The Great Movie Ride, Toy Story Mania and the Pixar Pals meet and greets will close at 10:30pm until after the fireworks due to attractions being located in the fireworks fallout zone.

PIXAR Place Expansion Coming Soon??

I'm going against everything I believe in when it comes to rumors, specifically DISNEY rumors, but I find this one way too juicy (and likely accurate) to pass up. According to a few reputable WDW fan websites, it seems that the Studio Backlot Tour is poised to close down at Disney's Hollywood Studios. We know that since Oaken's Trading Post and Frozen Funland are moving out of the Soundstage 1 area, work should soon begin on the rumored (and much needed) third track for Toy Story Mania. Why close the Backlot Tour? It appears that area is destined to be home to a rather extensive PIXAR Place expansion. According to WDW News Today, we will likely see smaller, flat-rides developed for Toy Story Playland at Disneyland Resort in Paris and Toy Story Land at Hong Kong Disneyland including RC Racer, Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin, and the Toy Soldier Parachute Drop.
